One could argue that I have not grown, and mentally anyway – I am far from Peter Pan (I'm not ginger to start), however, when he was literally 'grow' I wanted to be a fighter pilot. The idea of cruising at full speed the ground seemed a lovely idea, until one fateful day when some proclaimed dream destroyer: "You'll have to go to war you know". Suddenly, this well-prepared election race six years of age was shot down. He developed the fear to fly, poor eyesight and technophobia – material is not exactly Top Gun (although I do feel the need, "The need for speed!")

Now I'm older and slightly wiser than I am to my six year old, I cut my local Saab dealer and pick up a luxury, 9-3 and have a fighter jet on the road — more or less. Speed is very nice in fact that looks and Saab cars are a byproduct of the Swedish giant that began life building plans. With this in mind we will take a stroll through memory lane and talk all things 9-3.

The original Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (Swedish Aircraft Company – must have got my Swedish hours spent lost at Ikea) was established in 1937 with the mandate of building aircraft for the Swedish Air Force. However, with World War II draws to a close, the company decided to produce cars for the extension of business. It is the first car, 92, was named as the 92nd of design in the history of Saab was perhaps unsurprisingly the most aerodynamic car available – although he could not take off.

For 1970, Saab has built and Saab dealers sold the 500,000 cars. Finals 70 and along the 80, Saab turbocharging became renowned for their cars to give customers the formidable cocktail of power and aerodynamic efficiency. As a result of sales during the 80's were strong, until the competition caught on and Saab suddenly found themselves with more cars than they could sell and a lot of debt. In 1990, General Motors broke the company, initially with a 50% with the Swedish company Investor AB, before acquiring the entire company. With this firm foundation, Saab made a profit in 1995 – the first since 1988 and with his new confidence and finance, was born on 9-3.

Replacing the output without 900 profit model, the 9-3 was released in 1998 and is located either new or used in any Saab dealership. The car appears curved lines and features innovative as the 'Night Panel ", which was illuminated only an essential tool on the board at night to minimize distraction. Both the 9-3 and his brother greater the 9-5 were the first car in the world to achieve the maximum score for side impact safety, based on NCAP tests.

The first generation also had the game on the road – the Viggen. The name of the same name is actually an aircraft, which means "thunderbolt", the Viggen was an issue crazy limited return to the glory days of Saab turbocharging. Less than 3,000 were produced worldwide, and critics complained of torque steer in lower gears, due to unchecked power. In an effort to keep things in black things, a special spoiler was installed to add 50% more downforce and drag a kit reviewed incredibly reduced by 8% over the already sliding design. Enough statistics yet, in short, if like me you've ever wanted to be a fighter pilot, but have a number of reasons that can not a guy who is 230bhp Viggen. Just think when you are next asked about the beautiful lady in the office than unity, we can say "I drive a thunderbolt." Just do not put your foot down too fast or the critics will say "I told you so" as is leaving the coverage with an early termination of relations with the office lady.

If the above is too vulgar however, the 9-3 second-generation and facelifted 2008 models can be to your liking. Best-selling convertible is derived under the hood is a turbo tuned three stages depending on how quickly you want to get a speeding ticket. Unlike the Viggen However, the second generation in this business is in an adult manner and is suitable, equal As for speed freaks and entrepreneurs. Again, the 9-3 offers a host of gizmos – especially those who saved his life, such as head restraints that reduce whiplash. Unfortunately ejection seats as an option not listed in the brochure.

So there you have it – ten years in the 9-3 continues Saab offers the combination of aerodynamic design very opulent and the ferocity of property of the Council under the hood. Saab is also the holder of the exclusive royal appointed by the King of Sweden, so you can get a crown on his plate as well – that the man takes BMW.
