Paint Chip Lot

How do I fill in a hole left by a paint chip?
I used permanent tape to attach a wobbly corner of a piece of furniture to a wall. I’m rearranging now, and, when I took off the piece of furniture, though I was careful, a pretty big chunck of paint came off. Apparently it’s been painted a lot cause the chip left a pretty deep little hole like thing on the wall. I know I should putty it up or something and then paint it, but I’m not super sure what the best way to do that is. Can anyone help me?
if you have drywall, spackle the hole, sand it, prime it, paint it. if you have plaster, then apply plaster, then sand prime and paint.
the key thing about this, if you put spackle or patching plaster on the wall, then paint it, the paint will soak in and possibly the spot will still stick out on the wall. so prime with a latex primer, then paint with latex paint.
if you have satin finish on the walls, go to Lowe’s and buy a “sample” can of the color you have on the walls. the samples are sold only in satin and it will blend in nicely. if you have a different finish, go and buy a quart of the color, preferrably in the same brand and product line prime, then paint it.
Best of luck.
