How do I obtain the release of lien or Ford Motor Company?

Hi I bought a new truck back in 1997, Ford Motor Company, the truck was paid a long time ago, but Ford Motor Company, is still under embargo How do I change my name only I am the only owner but not to change a while ago … Please, I am in desperate need of aid and the need to sell the truck soon. Gracias mil.

How do you know Ford still listed as the lien holder? Do you have a title showing Ford as the lien holder? If so, the lien may have been satisfied and if so, Ford should have sent a paper to release the lien. In some states, the lien holder holds the title til the loan is paid and when paid, the title will be sent to you. In other states, the vehicle owner keeps the title, but the owner of a garment is shown. When the loan is paid, the lien holder sends a withholding statement to be put with the title to show the lien has been satisfied. Where appropriate, I would call Ford and ask them to send a duplicate copy of the release of the lien. I bet there really is no lien in the car
