Vista Cruiser Station

Station wagons have come a long way. Many remember the van as the imitation wood panel side of the vehicle of the 70, charged with children, prepared for any type of vacation. Today the station wagons are very luxurious and not the pickup of old, like most SUVs technically is considered a modern form of a station wagon – just to name one way they have changed.

The definition of a truck is any passenger car, whose body has a style roofline that extends into the rear cargo space. This does not include the rear windows, as the total height of the cockpit does not really extend all the way to the back and leans towards the hatch. Station wagons also have side windows in the cargo area, while some have rear windows thick and "C" pillars and no cargo area windows. According to Wikipedia, there are only two exceptions to this rule, including the Rambler station wagon (1952-62) in which the roof line subtly dipped in the cargo area, and GM Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser (1964-72) and Buick Sport Wagon (1964-69) in which the back the roof was slightly elevated and combined with three (1968-69 Buick, Olds 1968-72) or four (1964-67) skylights, the "Sportwagon" name has become popular again in recent years by some manufacturers. Certain models of Land Rover have also been described by the manufacturer as station wagons (including the use of English) as these vehicles was a tall wagon-like body with extra lights in the Alps ", or windows, above the windows on the side of the bay load.

The first trucks got their name due to being used by train companies. The vehicles were originally called 'depot hacks " since it is used around train depots as hacks (short for rental car, an old name for taxis). It also became known as "carryalls" and "Suburban". The name "station wagon" is a derivative of depot hack "was a truck carrying people and luggage from the station train at various local destinations.

Before the mid-1930s, hardwoods were used by most automotive companies in developing cabin passengers on their vehicles. In automobiles, the definition was ironclad that was covered in colored lacquers for protection. Finally, all steel bodies was adopted because of its strength, cost and durability.

Because station wagons were first used for commercial purposes for many years were considered commercial vehicles rather than vehicles for consumers. In 1922 Essex introduced the first affordable automobile closed, then changed the automotive industry away from open vehicles to meet consumer demand for vehicles closed. Station wagons also began to be closed, especially at the higher price.

As time went on, the car companies began to build its own station of wagons. Star (a division of Durant Motors), is generally credited as the first car company to offer a factory built truck from 1923. In 1929, Ford was by far the largest buyer of station wagons. Since Ford owned by their hardwood forests and the mills, began supplying the components of a cart of a model (although initially still some final assembly take place outside the factory. The same year, he Woodie Cantrell JT bodies Chrysler vehicles (which persist until 1931).

Traditionally, full-size American station wagons were configured for 6 or 9 passengers. The agreement in principle for six was three-passenger seats on the front and three passengers in the rear, all on the bench type seats to accommodate the nine, a third bench seat – often looking back, but sometimes facing forward or sideways – was installed in the rear cargo area on the rear axle. In Ford and Mercury wagons built after 1964, changed the settings two seats facing each other, placed behind the rear axle.

Newer models are usually built on small platforms and accommodate five or six passengers (depending on whether the bucket or bench seats are installed in front). Full-size SUVs like the Chevrolet Suburban and Ford Expedition have characteristics Similar to the aforementioned full-size trucks, such as 9-passenger seating with bench seats in the front.

Despite the size or year, Station wagons have come a long way since that originate in the train stations. People have come to enjoy enough space on their vehicles which can lead to family, friends and belongings anywhere like that.
